New Frontiers in Immediate Loading |
Few disciplines in dentistry have enjoyed the
attention and research endeavour that, over the past 40 years, have been
devoted to implantology, causing it, together with the technology on which it is based, to
evolve rapidly.
The development of new materials and new micro- and nano-treated surfaces, the use of dedicated virtual planning software, and the evolution of
digital radiology have revolutionised the techniques initially proposed and
accepted by the entire scientific community, the main objective being to make
it possible to perform rehabilitations rapidly and with high success rates.
However, changes and continuous developments can
disorientate the clinician who, on a daily basis, is subjected to the pressure
of new developments not always adequately supported by scientific research.
Therefore, a book like this that, through the
practical presentation of excellently documented clinical cases, sets out to
provide clarification in a sphere in which there is a risk of placing too much
store by approximate and poorly codified methods and, therefore, of creating
more problems than solutions, is certainly to be welcomed.
